VALUES MATTER CHARACTERISTIC FOR SEPTEMBER: RESPECT
Important Reminders:
School begins at 9:10 a.m. each day and ends at 3:50 p.m.
If you are dropping off your child or picking them up from school, you should enter the school at the entrance on 174 St. School busses will enter and exit on 157 Ave.
All students must wear masks to school each day. If your child does not have a mask, a mask will be provided at the entrance of the school.
All students must bring water bottles that can be refilled throughout the day as they cannot drink directly from the water fountains.
Students may bring their lunch or snacks if desired. However, free breakfast and lunch is provided by all MDCPS schools at this time.
Students should wear their uniform shirt to school daily. No shorts are allowed.
Tutoring is provided each Monday morning from 8:35 a.m. – 8:55 a.m. by all teachers in their classroom. Students should take advantage of this wonderful opportunity.
PTSA Membership: One of the many ways for you to be involved here at Herbert A. Ammons Middle School is by joining the PTSA for $8 per member. Joining does not obligate you to volunteer at school or to attend PTSA meetings-although we encourage you and your family to do so and hope you will!
Domino’s Pizza Fundraiser: On September 9, 2021 the PTSA will kickoff it’s fundraiser Domino’s Slice the Price pizza cards. Please support us by selling cards to your friends and families. If each student sells at least one card, the PTSA will profit $5,000 to give back to the school. These cards are a great value for anyone that loves Pizza!
Direct Donation program: Over the past few years, many parents have expressed an interest in supporting our school and have asked for an alternative to selling items for our fundraiser. That is why we are excited about the PTSA DIRECT DONATION PROGRAM. The Program asks families to make a voluntary, tax-deductible contribution to the Ammons PTSA either by cash or check payable to Ammons PTSA. As a thank you, you will receive a Certificate that will show your level of donation. This certificate can be placed in your child’s Portfolio to show Parent Involvement at Ammons. For more information on this program please contact PTSA at ammonsptsa@gmail.com.
Interim Progress Reports Interim Progress Reports that detail your child’s progress, both academically and behaviorally, provided at the halfway mark each nine-week grading period. Our first progress report will be issued on September 24, 2021. Report Cards will be available November 9, 2021. These report cards can be found on the student and parent portal.
